Icon was created from a found symbol intended for re-appropriation. Details were redrawn, cut out by hand to become a stencil (intended for street art) and then transferred to screenprint.

The Icon is a symbol that began in 2012, at first as a painting (see below, left) while arranging a series of symbols from medieval flags and historical, symbols.

Icon represents direction, navigation, identity and emergence. The symbol was printed in a very short number of this size (left) and became an "icon" that appeared in the Moons video.

A decision was made to designate this symbol to the Whote project and a smaller version of the work was issued with the finished Black Box edition of the Moons record (no longer available).

CANVAS: The 12" x 10" screenprint on canvas is available in blue on black (shown), silver on black and silver on blue(shown). The canvas is stretched over wood frame (no need for framing).

PAPER(FRAMED): The smaller image is printed in silver on black paper, matted with a 6" x 6" window and framed in a 12" x 10" matte steel frame with glass.
